How to find out What kind of material you might have?
​
Ferrous(Metal): Use a Magnet ,if sticks to the subject ,it is METAL with no doubt.
Non-Ferrous: Magnet will not sticks to any Non-Ferrous material.
ALUMINUM& STAINLESS STEEL: From the color or use a Grinder to find out:
Sparks: stainless steel
No Sparks: Aluminum
COPPER & BRASS:
Mostly from color.
Use Grinder, make some scratch on it, if the yellow color shows is Brass, if reddish color shows is Copper.
